The Scott The Woz Calendar was created around the 8th of November, 2022. It’s original and only purpose was to show people what Scott The Woz episodes were uploaded on their birthday, so that they could claim a ‘birthday episode’. I then broadened the idea to also include Scott’s Stash uploads.
It took a little while for me to work out that I wanted the calendar to 1) be a website, which I could edit and update when needed and 2) that the best format for what I wanted was to give every date its own page, and then just list the year with the episode.
The original version of the site did not have season pages, the Clubhouse page, Originals or Extras... or trading cards— they didn’t exist yet! All of the dates were listed on the homepage (I moved this to a separate page in January 2024 as part of the big site cleanup and ‘rebrand’, but preserved 99% of the original look for this) as well as a big list of the site updates, which I also eventually moved to its own page. Unfortunately I believe some updates may have accidentally been lost between the time of the start of the site to the creation of the updates page.
Over the years we have had lots of big countdowns on the homepage, such as the Clubhouse finale, various premieres, confirmed episode release dates, and the Wozzies! We have also had pop up reminders, encouraging people to vote in the Episode Ballot and to tune in to the Clubhouse finale. It took well over a year to fix the EST/EDT clock that I made, inspired by these countdowns...
While the clock and countdowns were the start of my journey into scripts, the addition of ‘splash text’ quotes at the start of 2023 was where I really got into it. Before, I had outsourced a lot of thinking power to my nerd friends who knew what they were doing. For the quotes, I went all in on my own.
Scott’s Snippets was added to the calendar for a time, when it was announced and then when it started to upload clips. However, it was a lot to keep track of... I eventually stopped adding new Snippets and then later removed Snippets videos altogether. Some pages still reference Snippets in the source code, for my own nostalgia.
I moved to VSCode at the end of 2023. This is the most convenient decision I have ever made (I was editing straight onto Neocities up until this point, unaware that I could edit files and then simply drag and drop to update them).
I have added a lot of Easter eggs and fun things. Secret pages and secret links and messages to friends hidden in the source code. I’m not sure why. I do think its very in the spirit of Woz, if that makes sense... No?
Wozzle was added mid-February, 2024 after months and months of work, alongside a big silly crossword so that it wouldn’t be the only game. Most of the work for Wozzle began in February 2023 with the initial ‘concept art’ being drafted on the 22nd. I taught myself HTML, CSS and JS for this site. From the ground up. My computer science education at school was minimal, and by that I mean all of the classwork and homework was NOT mandatory. We were quizzed once ever— filling in a couple of blanks eg. "what do we put in this gap to make the text red?!" Crazy, I know. I didn’t even finish that quiz, I remember. Wozzle was my big project and it was challenging and I was stubborn but I finally did it with minimal help and I can rest easy. I know its not perfect but its what I envisioned and I am happy.
After 771 days of running the Scott The Woz Calendar/Fansite, I was finally able to add my own birthday to the calendar on December 18th, 2024 :)
I am not sure what may or may not be added in the future. But from my point of view, here at the start of 2025, I think this little hobby project of mine has both exceeded all expectations that I ever had for it, and ended up in a place where I feel proud of my work.
The site’s home page has a few little things you can look at. You can use the navigation bar at the top of the page or the various buttons to make your way to different pages.
There is a Minecraft-esque splash text which will randomly be selected on each page load. The quotes range from Scott The Woz quotes to inside jokes to other Scott-related things. There are some quotes that will only display on certain days of the year.
There are links provided to Scott’s YouTube channels as well as some socials, including my own.
On the top right of the page (on mobile, this will move to the bottom of the page), there is a clock that will show your time as well as the current time in Scott’s timezone, and a counter for page visits and when the site was last updated by me.
Date Pages
Every episode of Scott The Woz, (public) video on Scott’s Stash, ‘Original’ video and ‘Extra’ video are organised into ‘date pages’ which can be viewed via a few ways:
By clicking their thumbnails on an appropriate page (eg. season summary pages). Some pages will allow you to click the date instead of the thumbnail (eg. trading cards page)
Every date follows the American MM/DD format. On the date pages, videos are then separated by video category (eg. Stash, Extra) and then organised by release year. You can click the arrows at the top of the date page to cycle through the available dates.
If a video thumbnail gets changed and the old version has been archived by me, you can hover over its thumbnail on its date page to view the old version. This may take a moment to load.
If no videos were released on a certain date, that date will not have a page.
Month Calendars
The month calendars show every available date in a typical calendar format from January to December.
Greyed out days are not available, otherwise you can click on the date to take you to that date page.
You can use these calendars to quickly see what dates do and don’t have videos.
Season Summaries
The season summaries list every episode from that season of Scott The Woz alongside some other information you might want to know. This includes:
Number of episodes
Year(s) that season ‘aired’
Time it would take to watch all episodes
The first and last episode
The longest and shortest episode
The ‘specials’ of that season (holidays, milestones)
Each season page has a grid of thumbnails that can be clicked on to take you to its date page.
Extras and Originals
This page lists every ‘original’ and every ‘extra’ on the Scott The Woz channel. The videos that fall into these categories are decided by Scott adding them to his playlists.
Originals are skit videos set outside of the Scott The Woz ‘canon’, but are on the STW channel.
Extras include ‘Best Of’s and charity/merchandise/event announcements. These are later unlisted and generally reuploaded to Scott’s Stash.
Cameos & Collabs
This page lists every video in the playlist ‘Cameos, Collabs & Other Appearances’ on the Scott The Woz channel.
The ‘playlist’ section is every video Scott added to the playlist, in the playlist order.
The ‘additional’ section are Scott cameos that aren’t in the playlist.
Lists
The Stash and episode lists show every single episode and every public Stash. Most recent is at the top of the page.
Scott The Woz episodes have their correct episode numbers. Stash videos use my own unofficial numbering which is based on the date the video was uploaded to the public (unlisted videos made public use their publicising date)
A search bar for video titles is included on these pages for convenience. Videos not matching your search are hidden.
These pages will load slowly as every video thumbnail is included on the page for the sake of assisting your searches.
Clubhouse Games
A page dedicated to the Year of Clubhouse Games: Worldwide Classics, the now completed series on Scott’s Stash, and all of its episodes.
Clubhouse episodes were released every Friday for a year, and the page was updated to show the progress through the series until the end.
Similar information to the season pages is included.
The recording dates are speculations/definitive dates that certain ‘blocks’ of episodes were recorded. This provides some context to certain ‘current event’ conversations during the series. Most definitive dates are unknown as the supposed recording dates are interpreted from their conversations.
Before the series ended, many thumbnails were updated to a new format. The original thumbnails are archived and can be toggled on the thumbnail grid using the switch. This may take a moment to load.
Bluth
The Bluth calendar is a recreation of the calendar for the month of ‘Bluth’, featured in A Very Madden 08 Christmas.
The holiday for that day is shown in the box. The dates link to dates in December.
This page is not formatted for mobile devices.
Guestbook
You can leave a comment to say hello!
Updates
A list (almost) every change and addition made to the site since its launch.
Year Summaries
Every episode/Stash/Extra released during a specific year, with a summary at the bottom of the page for the number of videos as well as the total length of all content for that year.
Random Episode Button
On page reload, will take you to the date page of a random episode when clicked. There may be more than one episode on that date page.
The Fun Section
Has buttons that lead to other parts of the site away from the main Calendar gimmick.
Also has a section that will show a randomised piece of Scott The Woz art from the Blue Border Entertainment Twitter account, and another section with some of my favourite Scott posts.
Wozzle
Similar to games like ‘Framed’ which were similarly inspired by ‘Wordle’ and based off the Scott The Woz community game known as Frame Guessing. I have recreated the game on a website so that the frames can be curated and randomized, unlike a typical Frame Guessing game where a player would have to provide the images themself.
Can you correctly identify a Scott The Woz episode from one frame?
Crossword
A giant crossword, inspired by the Serebii.net giant crosswords.
Featuring really, really weird and obscure trivia, in order to irritate people.
Stamps
A collection of Scott The Woz ‘old web style’ blinkies, stamps and gifs that you can save, share, and use.
May not display correctly on mobile.
Teams
This page is dedicated to the fanmade Scott’s Stash teams, with a scoreboard and different assets for supporting your team. Includes profile picture decorations.
Easter Eggs and Secrets
There are numerous Easter eggs hidden throughout the site, in the form of hidden links, hidden buttons, guessing the URL, inside the source code, etc.
Many of these secrets are for my friends, or different community members. Some of them are set to occur randomly. If you manage to find all of the available Easter eggs and secrets— well done! Though I think it will be hard, considering some of them rely on community inside jokes...
